Artist Info
Emerging vibrant and violent from the small town Leuven near Brussels, in the early eighties,
The Neon Judgement started to build up their own sound.
Their early work combined low-fi technology and emotional sincerity to create a sound both
warm and alienating. Going from strenght to strength, they released a string of haunting
albums that displayed an adventurous variety of songs, where downright industrial drones
stood side by side with twisted love songs and campfire ditties from hell.
The Neon Judgement was not only a band in the 8ties. Recently you can buy some of their 9ties work exclusively trough The WAB, the Belgian online shop giving digital shelter only for Belgian bands.
The mix cd titled ‘MIXING9TIES’ contains 17 TNJ tracks, recorded between 1990 and 1998, dj-mixed and compiled by Dirk Da Davo.
The music obviously gets flavoured with beats in remakes of ‘Are you Real’, ‘Jackson’, ‘Jazzbox’ and previously unreleased track-titles as ‘We R In Love’ and ‘Spirals’, ‘<p>
Furthermore there is the Swirl People remix of 1998 track ‘Out Of My Mind’, arranged by Dimitri De Wever en DJ Raul (Aroma Records).
Mixing 9ties’ is surely a statement for the bands creative work in the 9ties.
