a Belgian electro band starring LUUK COX [drummer in Buscemi’s live band and producer of Arsenal’s Outsides] and JIMMY DEWIT [aka DJ Bobby Ewing from Discobar Galaxie].
How they got together...
Every year, Discobar Galaxie hosts a four-day dance-a-thon on the Rock Werchter festival grounds. In 2004, as the party’s in full swing, Cox hands over a tape and Dewit puts it on. Both decide to continue their private electro music party, called Shameboy.
How to describe their music...
Like so many great things, Shameboy can be summed up in a single phrase: the aim is to be so good it makes you want to dance. In simple mathematics: (idea x sound) + form. In English: da funk. In more words: “...innovating and highly catchy dancebeats with phat&phunky grooves into a blending of 80’s synths, analog bass-lines, live- and programmed drumming and a screaming audience…”
