PLANALTO create a unique and original blend of techno, electro, club and melodic Latin music. The group's electronica-infused latin spirit works equally well on the dance floor as it does live on stage or in the living room.


After three 12"-releases they now present their debut full album: Hornito!


Planalto borrows elements from 'western' electronic music whilst also drawing from the sounds of northeast Brazil, with its rich, religiously infused musical traditions. Vocalist JANAINA RODRIGUES DA SILVA, who hails from Recife, is strongly influenced by such traditions. Planalto's musical backdrops are created by composers / producers STEFAN ROBBERS (Eevo-Lute, Acid Junkies) and JOHN EDWARDS (Generator 9).


The album's twelve tracks strike a balance between driving electronic influences and warm Latin melodies and harmonies. 'Hornito!' features an hour's worth of tough beats, warm vocals and atmospheric arrangements. Tracks range from experimental soundscapes to more traditional pop songs, which all, however, feature the instantly recognisable Planalto sound.
