Mascotte started in 2001 when Igor de Kok and Philip van de Gehuchte were producing
electro-tinted dance tracks with a dirty rock twist. Their 2 first maxi vinyls were received
very well...They got played by John Peel during his sessions, and got in the favourite lists
of various cult deejays ( i.e.tiga & johnny slut-nag nag nag). Reviews of these tracks men-
tion "floorfiller" and "catchy as hell" and refer to names such as Patrick Cowley, Felix da
Housecat. in between Mascotte was being asked for dancefloor remixes (i.e Daan with
Swedish designer drugs and sunchild, or Vive La Fete with Maquillage) Afull album was
released on Lowlands.
Live on stage mascotte reconstructed the electronic soundsystem and got assisted by
guitarist Matthias Bastiaens and female drummer Lara... allthough there are 4 micro-
phones, the lead vocals are done by Marie Daelemans.

But things change rapidly in this specific music, and so does mascotte...
New music has been made, and after a succesfull season of playing live, mascotte is
working on a second version of their show, for which they have created a new film-noir
choreography along with self-made projected visuals and light show...
DEEJAYS
If not as a live band, mascotte can also be seen as a dj duo that relfects the dancefloor’s
spirit of tomorrow. They have already rocked a lot of crowds, and they
tend to continue their story !
